Submission Guidelines: Authors

Short stories (500-5000 words) and poetry (maximum 40 lines) will be accepted for all anthologies, unless otherwise mentioned. We will accept stories up to 7500 words, but they will have to be of exceptional quality to be published.

Please read carefully the theme for the anthology you are submitting to and ensure your story matches.

We will only accept e-mail submissions. Your story should be sent as an attachment in either doc or rtf. Poetry can be sent in the body of the e-mail. To ensure your mail doesn't get filtered to our spam box, include submission [anthology name] in the subject.

You may send multiple submissions, but only one per e-mail please. We also accept simultaneous submissions, but please notify us of where else you have submitted--and if/when it is accepted elsewhere. A suggestion for multiple subs: ensure that the style/content for each story really is different. If you send us a half-dozen stories about a similar topic, all written in a similar way, chances are they will all receive the same verdict (if we even read them all).

Submissions should be in standard manuscript submission format with a few exceptions. That means:

• double spaced
• 12pt, Times (or equivalent)
• left justified
• only ONE space between sentences
• italics and bold should be formatted (not underlined--this just makes it easier for us to typeset)
• a title page with: name, address, e-mail, title, pseudonym and word count, brief (250 word) bio (including all this information will make our lives much easier when it comes to notifying you)
• submit in .doc or .rtf format

A cover letter is not necessary.

Submission Guidelines: Artists

We are accepting artwork for FARSPACE 3. Please keep the size of the submitted image to under 1 MB. If we like it, we will contact you for a larger version. Please submit as jpg or png and only one image per e-mail.

Reading Time and Response

As we all have day jobs also, we regret that we cannot inform you upon receipt of your submission. We hope to turn around new submissions within 3 months so please don't query before then.

Subs for Time's Edge and Future Britain

We apologize for delays in responding to subs for these anthologies. Due to the nature of the submissions received, we are in the process of deciding which course to take with them: whether to reopen to subs, re-envision the anthology, or cancel them. Please be patient, we will respond to all authors eventually. However, if you wish to submit to another market, all we ask is that you notify us (we will be happy to also keep your story under consideration if you wish.)
